Bio: Rick Nagel is an innovative journalist, staff developer and digital communications professional, experienced in community outreach, audience building, new-media integration and targeted content creation. He presently serves as community outreach coordinator for Kane County, IL, and prior to that was the founding editor of Geneva Patch and editor of Batavia Patch, two of AOL's most-successful hyper-local community-news websites. He is a former vice president of Sun-Times Media West Region, overseeing electronic-media and print content for four daily newspapers and 11 weeklies in Chicago's west suburbs, former editor-publisher and managing editor of The Beacon-News in Aurora, managing editor of Press-Republican newspapers based in Geneva and executive editor of Press Publications in Elmhurst.
